Metric strike again with "Synthetica"
We were biting our nails since we knew in September that Metric had entered a new album. It makes sense: after enjoying the euphoria as possessed electropop of "Fantasies", the expectation to hear new material has grown to unimaginable. Gorillaz, James Murphy and Andre 3000 collaborating on 'DoYaThing'
We are fully accustomed to seeing artists working in production work. You know: Krist Novoselic contributed his bit in "Wasting Light" by Foo Fighters, Fun Janelle Monae sang in 'Some Games' ... there are millions of cases very different. In every tragedy, they say, is indeed the humor buried: So Armin Petras staged a bitter-sweet John Gabriel Borkman at the intimate theater.
Frida Foldal (Hanna Plaß) sits with her flirtatious Glühwürmchensonnenschirm at the piano in front of the stage and sings Rio Reiser.
Behind her, forcing his way through the narrow aisles of a sloping bergwerkanmutenden stage design (stage: Olaf Altmann), a tall, slim, immaculately person: Wiebke pulse enters as Ella Rentheim after a long time, the house where her sister lived together with man.
While John Gabriel Borkman (Andre Young), according to his social decline in total isolation in the lives upstairs, is the quirky Mrs. Borkman (Christian King) sitting on the ground floor, together with her husband only by the scraping sound of his footsteps. Balloon Pilot - Band Radar

Find of the week 2009/48

long it was quiet here, but lately my humble self had also unfortunately far too little time to take over the blog idea. Now is the weekend and my first order of business is you "nachzureichen" The Find of the week. The week is not over yet but we wanted to actually put the thing so regularly in the beginning, which unfortunately just does not work always.
This is the found object is a real cracker. It comes from Wolfmother, who have even produced their new album Cosmic Egg again a very good and worth listening piece of music. This song, however, comes from her last album and a song in the original well-known real all. If not from the first album, then made several feature films, or maybe from a car commercial. Before now I had seen this video, I was personally convinced that it is actually implemented as an unplugged-piece is not really good. But these guys can simply give to Andrew Stockdale also with their acoustic guitars gas so so that I can simply say: "I am impressed!"

Max Raabe and the Palast Orchestra live at the Philharmonie
On 29 on 03.30.2012 and the Philharmonic presents the Gasteig in Munich two very special concert evenings, as the baritone singer Max Raabe and the Palast Orchester say: "kissing may not be alone." This is not just the name of the upcoming tour of Germany, but also the current Max Raabe albums (and one of the songs from that album), which he recorded together with the German pop singer and music producer Annette Humphrey. You have to imagine it this way: One day in late 2008, calls to Annette Humphrey with Max Raabe. The two have known each other at that time not so long, a few months. Carnival fools beware! Schonmal the false noses try and put together the costume, wig wear test and draw the mask! Preparations for the iconic carnival party in the hostel run at full speed until it is on 11 and 18 February is so far and the dormitory Biedersteiner road opens the door to the largest Carnival bash by and for students in Bavaria.
Since the 60s, going on two Saturdays during the carnival period from the post office, the tickets are in high demand and you have to queue up at the Abenkdasse belongs to the legendary event. From 16 clock cards can be purchased, the first potential exhibitors are already at the lunch hour waiting in line for. 2012 Grammys gala has now become a welcome-back party for Adele

Adele has announced her return to live performance after five months away from the stage – and it's a high-profile comeback. Her first show since undergoing microsurgery on her throat in November will be at the Grammy awards on 12 February.
"Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys," Adele tweeted on Monday. "It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer!" In a press release, she was a little more subdued: "It's an absolute honour to be included in such a night," she wrote. "[It] is very exciting and of course nerve–racking, but what a way to get back into it all."
The Grammys were already expected to be a historic night for Adele, who has been nominated in six categories. Although she didn't beat Kanye West's record of seven nominations, Adele is in the running for the most important awards, including record of the year, song of the year and album of the year. The singer previously appeared at the 2009 Grammys, where she was named best new artist. "A Grammy is like an Oscar," she said then. "You win an Oscar when you give the performance of your life. I hope this isn't the performance of my life."
The 2012 Grammys gala has now become a welcome-back party for Adele, who cancelled her entire tour in October 2011, complaining of voice problems. Since then, the 23-year-old has been resting; she also underwent an operation for a bleeding vocal polyp.
Other performers at this year's Grammys include Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and a Coldplay and Rihanna team-up. Paul McCartney will perform a new song, My Valentine, which will be filmed with a single camera. "I want to shoot from a perspective that harkens back to a classic look, when there were only three networks and when colour TV was new," Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich told Billboard. "It's a chance to do something I can't do with Nicki Minaj."
