Belgium is fashionable in the European indie scene. The launches of bands like Creature With The Atom Brain and Absynthe Minded Balthazar now joins them. Precisely
the latter two bands visited these days in Madrid and Barcelona and we
have made it clear that not only chocolate and Belgians living sprouts. Musical talent is something we have to export.
But let's focus on Balthazar. The
band was born in the town of Kortrijk, was founded in 2004 but it was
only after several EPs that have come to the fore in recent years. Two
years ago, and after winning a promising bands, released their debut
album, Applause, which was a success in the underground scene of his
country. His
music came to the attention of several scouts and his career began to
take off when they toured Europe opening for a band like dEUS world
class.
In this paper we breathed a youthful freshness permeating each and every one of the songs. Without
abandoning the rebellious, the band led by Maarten Deprez Jinte
Devoldere and we now offer "Rats", a much more mature album and rested
it again shows that, if the world is fair, Balthazar go far.
The
quality of his songs and melodies manifested kept meticulous way of
interpreting the chorus, which at times could get to remind bands like
Fleet Foxes. But do not confuse. His proposal has nothing to do with the folk and acoustics. The pop style is rooted in these five musicians who also know flirting with rock and even dance music. That's why you are unable to listen to a topic as Later and think of a certain similarity to the sound of Phoenix. On the other hand, the voice of Devoldere can remember the moments of Nick Cave and Lou Reed.
Certainly, an interesting mix seen in songs like 'Sinking Ship', 'The Man Who Owns' or 'Any Suggestion'. The
melancholy fills much of this second work in songs like 'The Oldest of
Sisters', 'Joker's Son' (where the choruses are big players when
rounding the track) or Sides. But all is not gloom. 'Do Not Claim Them' serves to enliven the atmosphere with a repetitive rhythm that live works perfectly.
"Rats" is therefore a much more molded disc "Applause". They are two very different jobs that offer two things that can serve different moments. The
first, more lively and inviting to dance in many of his songs and the
second, to serve as the perfect co-pilot on a cold autumn afternoon and
it makes clear that Balthazar still has many gifts for the ride.

Green Day will also be in the Bilbao BBK Live 2013
These last hours have been most moviditas. First Soundgarden rose. Then came Mumford & Sons and, via LiveNation announced a pair of concerts in our country. And now is the people of Bilbao BBK Live 2013 and the good father bundles announced that Green Day accompany Depeche Mode headlining the famous festival Bilbao.
The trio led by Billie Joe Armstrong come to BBK to present his trilogy - "One", "Two," Tre "- in an exclusive date in our country. A complementary fashion festival Last Tour International has also confirmed the presence of other groups renown as Two Door Cinema Club, Delorean, We Are Standard, Delorentos and the one released album - 'SLNT FLM' - recently. The festive season tickets, sold from today at a price of 85 euros booking fee, you can find them through the Bilbao BBK Live website.
Or "One" or "Two" have convinced us. Even so it can be kind of interesting (and fun!) To know that Green Day will serve as a counterpoint to the serenity and maturity of a Depeche Mode that will come with a new album under his arm. The thing looks interesting, right?
