A whole new kind of representation of their "gypsy life" have found three musicians who perform in the coming days as part of the series "Voices of the Roma."
The singer Segundo Falcon and his guitarist Paco Jarana be on Thursday, May 10, formed by 20 clock in the black box in the Gasteig opener. The duo will perform a special form of flamenco, the "cante jondo", a very deep kind of sung, whose texts until the 16th Century back. Accompanying this will give a lecture Professor Rafael Macias Infante about the influence of the Spanish Roma flamenco.
The composer and poet Edward Debicki will provide, together with his dance theater Terno on Friday, May 11 at 19 clock, insights into the poetry and music of the Polish Roma and recite texts of the poet wrote, edited. A poetic and musical evening with moderation and translation by Agnieszka miller in the Black Box Gasteig.
The Oana Catalina Chitu Romanian singer ties in with her band of rhythms and melodies of the Balkans. She sings the songs of the Roma and Sinti paired with swing, jazz and tango. Especially the latter they are with their intensity and their own emotions face. This musical passion is there on Tuesday, May 15 at 21 clock in the lower drive.
