With only seven-year career, Rihanna has been named the most important artist of the last two decades by Billboard magazine, which in the U.S. publishes official lists of sales, ahead of other greats like Pink, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Madonna.
"It has the largest number of entries in list (34), the highest number of inclusions in the top ten (21) and numbers 1 (nine, a record he shares with Katy Perry)", explains this publication in an article, on the twentieth anniversary of the launch system audit his service to Nielsen.
According to these results, and on the singles chart with "Hot 100", the second most important artist of 1992-2012 fellow is Pink, followed by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Mariah Carey, the female singer with more number one in U.S. history
Rihanna, who just released the single "Diamonds" from his upcoming studio album (seventh untitled), has one of the most glittering careers in commercial history.
With six hit records in just seven years of professional career, the artist also treasured record numbers have accumulated over 1 in U.S. at an earlier age, 24 years.
Among the top ten of the table, only Usher (No. 7) and the trio Black Eyed Peas (8) manage to gain a foothold against the might of the divas, who have a huge presence with Katy Perry (No. 6), Janet Jackson (9) and Madonna (10).
As if that were not enough, Lady Gaga (11), Christina Aguilera (12), Beyonce (16) and Jennifer Lopez (18) are followed closely, with the permission of Justin Timberlake (13) and the only rockers of the "Top 20" : Nickelback (14), Matchbox Twenty (15) and Maroon 5 (19).
