Angus and Julia Stone: so close, so far

Throughout last year I spent most of my days listening to "Down The Way" by Angus & Julia Stone. Listening to this album managed to transport me to a world of calm where they became palms copiers, and computers are mutated in turquoise waves. A beautiful place where everything cohesionaba, just as they did the voices of these two brothers were born in Australia.

Late / early this year announced the separation (merely) temporal duet. The reason for this change of air was used for both should focus on their solo projects. The first to throw a stone was Angus, who in just a month and a half has leaked a couple of songs ("Broken Brights' and 'Bird On The Buffalo', listen here) in which the eye-popping breath folkie vein of of Sydney. The continuity from their previous musical training is more than obvious, and that is why it is undeniable the wait for an LP in July that sound similar, but more raw hair, listened to "A Book Like This" or " Down The Way ".

The surprise we've been hearing a couple of pieces that constitute the "By The Horns" Julia Stone due out May 25. The stylistic shift is radical: rural landscapes is passed to a more urbanite acclimated for a minimalistic pop touch. The folk has been parked at the expense of a sound focused on exploiting the virtues of a voice that sounds more defined and modulated than ever.

Listening to these songs I must admit that I do not feel any anxiety to begin to know something of the upcoming album of Angus and Julia Stone. The Australians, each for their part, are carving out something to behold. The race of their lives ... and intrinsic personality! Congratulations to both: this looks really good, very good.
